The world of the Pokémon Trading Card Game is about to experience a major turning point with the release of its new expansion: Mega Evolution. Expected in France on September 26, 2025, this series marks the end of the Scarlet and Violet block while paying tribute to one of the game's most iconic mechanics: mega evolutions.

A highly anticipated release to close the Scarlet and Violet block
On September 26, 2025, French fans will be able to discover the MG series, the name given to the Mega Evolution block. This expansion will conclude the Scarlet and Violet cycle, launched in 2023, with a focus firmly on nostalgia and the power of mega-evolved Pokémon. Mega Evolution Pokémon last appeared in the Pokémon TCG in the XY and Sun & Moon series, and fans are thrilled about this return in fall 2025.
A pre-release is scheduled for September 13, 2025, with the sale of special kits in certain partner stores. These pre-release kits will allow players to discover new mechanics and cards exclusively.

A dense and ambitious series
Mega Evolution promises to be a large-scale series, with:
- More than 180 classic cards (common, uncommon, rare)

About 50 secret cards, for a total exceeding 230 cards
It will therefore be a rich expansion, with varied content and great depth for both collectors and players.
Products from the Mega Evolution series
To accompany this release, several types of products will be offered, following previous expansions, with some new features.
Mega Evolution pre-release kits
As with most new Pokémon releases, the AP kits will be available about ten days before the official release, offering two different visuals: Lucario and Gardevoir. They will contain the necessary items to participate in pre-release tournaments and discover the cards in advance.
Elite Trainer Boxes (mega evolution ETB)
As often, two versions of the Elite Trainer Box will be offered:

One black and gold ETB illustrated by Lucario

One white and gold ETB with Gardevoir
Each box will contain 9 boosters, a full art promotional card (Riolu or Alakazam depending on the model), 65 card sleeves, dice, energy cards, and several essential accessories to play the Pokémon TCG.
Boosters and displays
Four different illustrations will decorate the boosters of this expansion: Kangaskhan, Gardevoir, Venusaur, and Lucario. The 36-booster displays will be available at launch, as with any main series.
Blisters and tripacks
The mega evolution blisters adopt the new cardboard format already used in the United States (and previously released in France during the last series of the Scarlet and Violet block like EV9).
Two visuals of mega evolution tripacks (3 boosters + 1 promo card) will also be available. These products are often popular for their accessibility.
Mini-tins (small metal tins)
Five models of mega evolution mini-tins are planned, with a purple background and the following illustrations:
Gardevoir, Venusaur, Lucario, Latios and KangaskhanThese small formats generally appeal to collectors for their design and compact size.
6-booster bundles
Another now-regular new release in the TCG line, 6-booster bundles will also be available in France on a date yet to be announced. This will be one of the most sought-after items in this Pokémon expansion.
Duopack
The Mega Evolution Duopack is a must-have special edition for Pokémon TCG fans. It contains two exclusive boosters highlighting the famous Mega Evolution cards, as well as a promotional card.

Two major mega evolutions have also been revealed: Mega Latias and Mega Bulbasaur. These cards appear to retain the powerful and luminous aesthetic that made the previous Mega Evolution series successful.
